Ghana’s swimming Association is elated to have gotten an executive member in the person of Farida Iddris elected unto the African Swimming Confederation (CANA) Bereau. Her election was massively witnessed via a zoom meeting scheduled by the continental governing body in charge of swimming in Africa.

The treasure of the Ghana Swimming Association is expected to liaise with the Local Organizing Committee of the African Games on behalf CANA to plan, strategize and organize eye-catching competitions in the coming days as 2020 plans were betrayed by the Covid-19 pandemic. With so much experience under her sleeves, she is also expected to offer her expertise in training and mentoring technical brains as well as certified coaches of the association within the continent for upcoming tournaments.

And speaking to some media outlets in Accra, the newly elected Bereau member of CANA, Farida Iddris expressed her appreciation for the confidence imposed in her by the Association and pledge to work tirelessly to see swimming become a common sports in her native country Ghana and the continent as a whole. “l will also engineer women interest in the swimming” according to her.

Since her appointment was announced via zoom, congratulatory messages keeps on pouring from all sectors and the president of the Ghana Swimming Association, Theophilus Wilson Edzie has equally applaud the feat of his executive member in an interview. He also used the medium to implore corporate bodies in Ghana and beyond to come on board and support the swimming Association in Ghana.
